Booking conditions and terms and conditions for Hensleigh House Charmouth
Bookings are accepted from our own Internet booking pages, by telephone, or from certain third party booking agencies. No booking is deemed to be confirmed until either a deposit has been received by Hensleigh House, and/or the guest has received a confirmation email directly from Hensleigh House.
A Visa or Mastercard debit or credit card valid at the check-out date is required to guarantee the booking.
Providing that a valid credit or debit card is given at time of booking, and the expiry date is after the check-out date, then no deposit is required. (Please note that this only applies to bookings for one room for up to 7 days, other bookings may require a deposit).
Bookings received without a valid debit/credit card (Visa or Mastercard) may be rejected or cancelled at any time by the management.
Hensleigh House accepts no responsibility for for any booking, or attempted booking, which is not confirmed by ourselves. In particular we accept no responsibility for any booking, however made, where no deposit has been processed and no confirmation email has been received by the guest from Hensleigh House.
We do appreciate that sometimes guests have to change their plans, and we encourage anyone who needs to change dates or cancel their booking to contact us, or their booking company, as soon as possible.
We, and the booking agencies may offer a number of different rates with different cancellation policies. For example a booking made at a particular time, at a particular rate, may have a different cancellation policy to other bookings made later or at higher or lower rates.
For direct bookings made by telephone or on the Hensleigh House Website AT THE PRESENT TIME you may cancel free of charge up to 7 days before arrival. After this period 100% of the total value of the booking is payable. However, the management may, at their discretion, reduce the payment if they are able to let the room to another guest.
Bookings made at other times or on other websites (Booking.com, Expedia etc. known as 'Online Travel Agents') will be subject to the cancellation terms shown at the time of booking on that site (and included in your booking confirmation, and will not be varied.
All bookings for one night stays are NON-REFUNDABLE.
Some bookings made through 'Online Travel Agents' are NON-REFUNDBLE. For all NON REFUNDBLE bookings, payment may be taken any time after the booking is made.
Bookings made through 'Online Travel Agents' must be cancelled or amended through those companies facilities. The cancellation cannot be accepted if notification is given directly to Hensleigh House where the booking was made through an 'Online Travel Agent' (sorry - but this is a condition the online travel agents place on us which WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO VARY).
In the event of a 'no show' - the guest not arriving by 23:59 on the scheduled day of arrival - the entire booking will be cancelled, and the full value of the reservation will be charged with no exceptions.
Refunds or reductions cannot be given in the event of guests leaving early.
The management reserve the right to refuse any booking and do not need to provide a reason.
The number of guests per room must not exceed the advertised maximum occupancy for the room, and must not exceed the number of guests shown on the booking.
We regret that we do not accept pets. Anyone bringing a pet onto the premises will be asked to leave immediately, and the full value of the booking will be charged. Professionally trained assistance dogs accompanied by an identification card issued by an appropriate authority are permitted. If you have an assistance dog please speak to us BEFORE BOOKING and we will do everything we can to accommodate you.
Minumum age - At least one guest in each room must be aged 18 or over.
Anyone under the age of 18 may only stay in the same room as a) their parents, b) their grandparents, c) their legal guardian, d) a friend or relative who is over 21 and has the parents permission.
Guests must show due consideration for other guests, the owners and staff. Inconsiderate behaviour will not be tolerated and guests causing nuisance or damage will be asked to leave. The cost of repairing any damage will be charged to the guest. Please remember that we are a guest house not a large hotel, and as such you are a guest in our home.
Hensleigh House accepts no responsibility for guests possessions unless loss is occasioned through negligence of our staff.
Check in is from 4:00pm to 9:00pm. We regret that as a family run guest house with chores and appointments during the day, we are unable to offer early check in, but you are welcome to use the car park (if there are spaces available) and visit the beach or pubs and restaurants. Later check-in may not always be available, and must be agreed in advance.
Whilst we make every effort to provide all the facilities advertised, from time to time some facilities at Hensleigh House may not be available, and room configurations may change.
WiFi is normally available and is free of charge. However, the availability and performance of the WiFi is subject to provision by our suppliers and so is not guaranteed. The WiFi service is a shared service subject to performance fluctuations and at times may not be suitable for streaming.
These booking conditions are provided to help avoid any uncertainty or disagreement. We aim to provide a friendly, helpful service, so if you do have any problems or require any changes to your booking please do speak to us.
We strive to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible, but can only respond to any problems or issues if we are told about them when they arise. Any issues reported at checkout can only be investigated later, and will not result in a refund or reduction in the room cost.
